Icon Blue Named 8th Best Place to Work by Counselor

LOS ANGELES (September 16, 2016) – Icon Blue is pleased to announce that Counselor has named the company the 8th best place to work within the advertising specialties industry.

Moving up 28 spots from last year’s list, Icon Blue has broken into the top 10. Located at 5055 Wilshire Boulevard on Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile, the company’s office immediately distinguishes itself by presenting an open, colorful environment that fosters creativity.

In an industry of over 24,000 companies, Icon Blue separates itself by being an environment where every employee has a voice and is encouraged to offer his or her creative input. Ideas move freely through the office as employees help each other to offer fresh and uniquely tailored product ideas to customers.

An important distinction in Counselor’s ranking process is that the results are determined based on anonymous feedback from employees from each company.

Vice President and COO Eden McClellan takes pride in creating a workplace where people want to come in to work:

“I believe it is because we strive to work as a team and foster a work environment that is supportive and caring of everyone.  We are big on recognition and in providing opportunities for growth. We also balance work with fun activities throughout the year.”

Team Building Day 2015Icon Blue’s philosophy can be seen in practice, from yearly events to daily routines. Team Blue participates in a team building event annually, ranging from creative puzzle solving to an afternoon of bowling. Back in the office, McClellan works hard to ensure that everyone leaves by 5:00PM every day, so that employees maintain the careful balance between work and life. 2016 saw the addition of a wellness initiative that includes nutritious snacks in the breakroom, aerobic breaks, and healthy habits education.

Icon Blue Angel TreeIcon Blue’s commitment to service extends beyond customers and employees to include the local community. In 2015, the company hosted a Salvation Army Angel Tree which helped to collect gifts for 75 underprivileged children in the East Los Angeles area. Everyone in the office participated and helped to reach out to other companies in the 5055 Wilshire building. The company plans to repeat and expand the program this holiday season.
