Highlights from the Past Year
At the beginning of every year, we take a moment to reflect on the year that has passed as we begin to look forward. Last year brought new challenges but also new accolades, and we are proud of Team Blue’s accomplishments in 2017.
PPB Recognized Icon Blue Among Industry’s Greatest Companies To Work For
PPB (Promotional Products Business), a major publication within the promotional products industry, named Icon Blue among the top industry workplaces in 2017. This marks the third consecutive year that Icon Blue has received such recognition. In 2015 and 2016, Counselor magazine awarded Icon Blue the Best Places to Work recognition at 36th and 8th place, respectively.
PPB Named Alison Peters Service Superhero
In November, PPB named Director of Accounts Alison Peters as a Service Superhero. Nominated by clients, colleagues, and other industry professionals, Alison earned her recognition by consistently going above and beyond in order to provide the best level of service to everyone who works with her.
The November release of PPB included a feature on Alison highlighting her career in the promotional products industry.
PPB Named Eden McClellan Among Best Bosses of 2017
Nominated by her employees, Icon Blue President Eden McClellan was recognized as one of the best bosses in the promotional products industry last year. Published in the October release of PPB, an article explaining the recognition contained comments from Icon Blue employees:
“[Eden] understands that empowering employees breeds confidence, which helps bring out the best in people.”
“Eden has created an environment where people strive to do their best.”
Icon Blue in the Community
Volunteering at Children’s Institute, Inc.
As a participant in Honda’s National Week of Service, Icon Blue volunteered in June at Children’s Institute, Inc. to support their Summer Camp Kickoff.
“The day was a fun start to CII’s summer program that takes place between school years. This particular event served children aged 7-10 and provided a variety of entertaining and creative activities. From carnival toss games and moonbounces, to a “spin-art” machine that helped give an introduction to abstract art, the day was full of merriment (and popcorn!). The Icon Blue employees split into two teams to assist with both morning and afternoon shifts at the kickoff. In each of the three-hour blocks, Icon Blue members worked with other volunteers and staff of Children’s Institute, Inc. in activities and to chaperone.”
In what has become a tradition, Icon Blue hosted a Salvation Army Angel Tree for the third consecutive year:
“The Salvation Army Angel Tree program is designed to provide assistance to families in need who otherwise would have a difficult time providing gifts to their children during the Christmas holiday. Donors pick out Angel Tree “tags” that represent a child and their gift wish and at the end of the collection period the gifts are sent to the Salvation Army and distributed to the families.
2017 was a great year for the company and we are humbled by the recognition we received within the industry. 2018 marks an important year for Icon Blue—stay on the lookout for some big announcements coming soon.
